vief ♡ food, mocktails and a few new things

Halloooooo, I know it’s been awful quiet over here, I’m sorry, I’ve just been enjoying my Easter break. I’m catching up though, and have a lot to share, so here’s a bit of a random post with tidbits of some things I did, ate and bought about a month ago.

PEACH & PEAR

Sometimes, I like to go out for vegan food. Because who doesn’t like to go out for food?! Too bad finding good vegan food is kind of tricky. However, there are a few places in Leeds where you know for sure that the food is vegan friendly and very very good, so I come there again and again and again. One of these places is Peach & Pear [facebook].

Pictured above are two vegan burgers. Let me tell you a little bit about the burgers. Basically first you choose your type of burger – meat, which comes in 3 types, or vegan – and then you can pick several ‘styles’ which will have different toppings and sauces. I have to say, the vegan burger is gooood. It’s not one of those vegetables-mashed-together-in-a-circular-shape kind of things, which are fine, by the way, but kind of limited to what you can do with them. This vegan burger has texture, it is made to look and feel like a real burger, and it tastes delicious. Of course the toppings and sauces play a big part in deliciousness, too! There’s the Greek style, which includes hummus and olives, a Thai style with a nice spicy sauce and fried tofu bits, a breakfast burger that includes vegan bacon… They’re all really nice! And the homemade chunky chips are super tasty as well.

This is scrambled tofu, which you can order as a side dish. Most of the side dishes are only £1,00!

They also do nice smoothies and milkshakes, which they’ve named after the things you can see in the frames.

At the time I took this picture, it was wayyy too cold to sit outside, but it’s a really nice terrace. Best part of Peach & Pear? It’s super affordable. And they also do deliveries!

MY NEW DIARY

I needed a new diary because my other diary was full. I like do it yourself kind of diaries where you can start when you want and fill in the dates yourself, but this one was kind of weird and didn’t have enough space… I decided to get a new one that wasn’t day by day but week by week, and I found this cute little thing!

This little guy is Molang, he’s a bunny and he speaks Korean. :D I have no idea what he’s saying but isn’t he cuuuuute?! (✿ ‿)

When I figured out the diary came with free stickers and a mint-coloured cover, I knew I had to buy it. EVERYTHING IS JUST TOO ADORABLE ♡~!

MOCKTAILS

I had a virgin apple Mojito at Carpe Diem [website] where Rocksoc had a social one night. Carpe, as it’s also sometimes called, is a friendly pub for people who are into rock music. They have pool tables, a stage for live music, food and a nice card which gives you discounts on drinks. [Such as cocktails, but apparently not the virgin ones, oh welllllll.]

A week later I had some fruity thing that the bartender made up. It had lots of fruit juice: pineapple, cranberry, orange, something… This was at Santiago [facebook] which is a really cool bar that also plays good music for the alternative crowd. They have a room upstairs where they do comedy nights [actually I don’t know if they still do it, but I went to it once, and it was cool]. Also, the people who work here are friends with Cancer Bats. Which is basically why I was there, because Cancer Bats played at the Cockpit and afterwards all the cool kids who were at the show migrated to this cool place. [Fact: at UK venues you cannot hang around and when a show is done, you are made to leave within the shortest timeframe ever so you basically have to migrate or go home but it’s okay, I mean, we’ll just go where the nice (virgin) cocktails are.] ANYWAY! It was tasty and I had a really fun evening where I first banged my head and then made new friends. :)

LOLITA BUYS

After what seemed like a realllly long time of not buying any new Lolita things, March was the month where I finally received some additions to my wardrobe. Which made me happy, because I felt really inspired to wear it again, like I said previously.

The dress is Angelic Pretty’s Meringue Ribbon, it has perfect colours [because my favourite colours are mint, lavender and pastel blue] and the bows are POOFY. I also absolutely love love love the polkadots on the bottom and the scallops and aaaa, so happy with this dress! ♡o｡.(✿ฺ｡ ✿ฺ)
It was a bit of a hassle getting it though, first I missed the package even if I had been waiting around and not leaving the house for two days for it, then the redelivery never showed up and then I had to walk to the post office in Headingley [which is about a 40 minutes walk one way] and the delivery guy had spelled my name all wrong and uuughhhh – but it all ended up okay, and it’s lovely, so all is well now.

These cute short socks are, evidently, also Angelic Pretty. My friend Hannah was in Japan and got them for me in the sale! I love them, but that’s no surprise haha, mint and polkadots… and adorable heart lace!  (＾▽＾) ♡~!

I think the best part about receiving the socks was that she wrote Cumberbatch on the envelope! It’s a bit silly but it still made me giggle. ;)

One sunday I was happy with muffins for breakfast, as the final week of term was coming up and we had a lot of deadlines. Also, the last episode of Being Human (UK) EVER was being shown that night. So these muffins did their job of cheering me up.
