Davey Havok Day ♡ 2013

Thursday the 14th of February was a special day. I already posted about it the week before, but in case it slipped by: it was time for the annual DAVEY HAVOK DAY~!

☼

I started my day travelling back up North after spending 24 hours in London for the Kyary concert… And was happy to see a rainbow on the way!

During the 4,5 hour trip, I drank a pink[ish] drink, and listened to ALL THE AFI on my iphone, which coincidentally spanned the whole bus trip! The track I was listening to when I took this picture is a b-side and it’s one of my favourite ones.

When I arrived back in Leeds I made a little detour to get ingredients for the pink cupcakes I wanted to bake. I skyped my lovely friend J-M [the one who invented the holiday with me] and we were both baking vegan things, drinking pink things from our special Davey Davey goblet and generally being awesome, which totally made my day! I also talked to my Twin-twin[ref]See here.[/ref] and received quite a few “Happy Davey Havok day” wishes from several corners of the world. Love love love!

Here’s a picture of the lovely Twin-twin celebrating with me from overseas in her pink outfit with her pink bubbly and traditional pink cake! [If you’re Dutch or Belgian then you definitely have to eat roze koeken on Davey Day!]

After all the baking was done, I went to my friend Sophie to ask if I could borrow some of her pink Lolita stuff, because I don’t own any. It’s funny because as soon as I opened her wardrobe I was met with PINK OVERLOAD! She has a collection of 90% PINK! She may have some black and white things here and there, but really, the majority of it is pink. I tried to take a picture but it was too dark, but believe me, it was a true pink treasure chest! Sophie is the anti-me: I have no pink and she has ONLY pink! :D

I finally picked a dress suitable for the occasion and after saying many many thanks to Sophie, packed it in a pink AP bag and went back to mine to take a shower with PINK and glittery things! I got this Lush-y goodness for Christmas from L’s parents and even though it’s pink, I looooove it. Snow Fairy is something they only do for Christmas, but it is the most amazing thing ever: it smells super sweet like a candy store, and it has GLITTERS. And the little heart is Shimmy Shimmy, a little body butter bomb of goodness, I’ve loved this product forever because it makes your body feel smooooth and leaves you all sparkly! I had fun taking a few minutes to myself in the shower because this was quite the hectic day.

Sophie lent me her A La Carte Tea Time dress and bow by AP[ref]Again, see here.[/ref], and cute socks with pink bows on…

The bunnies and fork and spoon are my favourite parts of this print.  I thought it was perfect because obviously Davey also loves bunnies. And so do I. [If you’re not a Davey fan and this isn’t obvious… well, here’s a video just for giggles. And for more AFI rabbit love, watch the bit in Miss Murder where there are BUNNIES, around the 2 minute mark.]

Davey Havok Day ♡ 2013

When I was all dressed up and ready to go, I finally met up with L who took me out for dinner at Wagamama! I was wearing pink accessories, of course.

Vegans can have delicious food at Wagamama, and we really love gyoza . Okay, so this food wasn’t pink… but it was very very good!

Looking at this just makes me hungry again. :P Yasai yaki udon made vegan, delicious!

Davey Havok Day ♡ 2013

After the delicious dinner at the friendly Wagamama we continued our evening by going to the cinema. I had kept it a surprise until then, but I took L to see the new Disney movie that finally came out that week. Wreck-It Ralph!

I was a little bit sceptical the first time I heard about the production of this movie a looong time ago, but slowly but surely over time I had gotten more and more excited! And I wasn’t disappointed, it was a really fun movie to watch. There were a lot of fun geeky moments in the movie, and I was soooo in awe with the Sugar Rush landscapes. :o I want to live there!

There’s a photomaton next to the cinema, so naturally I made us go in there. I  photomatons!!!

I took my little bucket from Tokyo Disneyland  because a] it fit the pink! hearts! theme and b] I smuggled in popcorn! Buying things at the cinema is way overpriced in the UK. I had tried to make soy sauce flavoured popcorn, but it didn’t taste of soy sauce too much… I’ll have to try again.

After the photomaton, it was time for playing at the machine! I thought it was very fitting after just watching a movie about arcade games, haha.

Davey Havok Day ♡ 2013

I love dance games, they might just be my favourite type of arcade game. Stereotypical much? Haha. I wish there was a para para[ref]Para para is a type of dance, see Wikipedia.[/ref] machine, though…

Anyway, back to the point: I totally won! :D Yeaaaahhhh~!

Then we noticed another game that was out of order! Having just seen Wreck-It Ralph, we felt very very bad for the game.

So my cupcakes weren’t pink themselves, they were chocolate with coconut flavoured… And the papers had cherries on them, cherries are also a big part of Davey Havok Day because of tradition.

But I managed to make pink icing with raspberries! Placing a fresh raspberry on there made it even more delicious and fun looking. Then I sprinkled more coconut on top for good measure! Nom.

I had made so many, we were still eating them long after Davey Day was over… :D

All in all, I had a perfect day: pink everywhere, AFI/Davey, friends, love, cupcakes, fun times, great food, Disney, photomaton, dancing game…  I’ll remember this day for a long, long time. I hope everyone else also had a lovely day and see you next year~♡!

It’s no surprise you prefer RED because you’re a socialist… Although it’s no secret I also prefer red! Haha. The [red] apple doesn’t fall far from the tree!

Oh my god so much pink wonderful stuff! I love pink! And Snow fairy is my favourite product from Lush! I even have the solid perfume. :D The star soap I’ve also used. Also, I want your cupcakes. All in all such a wonderful celebration you’ve invented. :)
